Here is a little background on me and the evolution of Sympura.
Sympura started from a ladies holiday luncheon where the owner, Mary, made natural homemade lip balms as party favors for her friends using organic Hawaiian beeswax that her beekeeper brother gave her from the Big Island of Hawaii. Her guests raved about the lip balms and started asking how they could get more. After many requests and compliments, she was convinced she had to start selling them. So, Mary put them up on Etsy under the name Honey G’s to reflect their origin. She started making labels that were created in-house so she could customize the lip balms for different events such as baby showers and weddings. Then, the demand for other products started and the natural body butters and a few other products were created. After having a daughter named Kaia and a few years experience, Mary educated herself on the importance of environmental sustainability, giving back to the planet and leaving the world a better place. As a registered dietitian with a profound passion for well-being and empowering others to live more purposeful lives, it seemed like a natural fit to blend these passions together. Mary then rebranded Honey G’s to better align with her interests and created the name Sympura which is a combination of “Simple + Pure + Kaia.” As a part of that transformation, she updated the packaging to be compostable and/or recyclable and created a more extensive portfolio of offerings including candles, yoga mat spray and face lotion. With all-natural beauty products, air purifying house plants, nutrition tips and workshops, Sympura is more of a lifestyle than a product.
